Claims and Image Engineers
An Introduction
The Claims and Image Engineer provide a support service to customers offering a validation and authorisation of motor claims, total loss handling end to end.
We have UK wide coverage and our Claims and Image Engineers are equipped with the most modern equipment to be able to deal with claims for all Motor vehicle classes.
This may involve managing and authorising the repair of a vehicle either at a repairer's premises or remotely using image technology in the case of total loss agreeing the valuation of a vehicle direct with the customer or vehicle owner.
The engineers validate reports updating our claims systems to facilitate the completion of the case by claims colleagues.
To provide some economy of scales during 2005 our team managed in excess of 400,000 motor claims.
Structure
The Claims and Image Engineers form part of the Field Force unit, which in turn is part of the Claims Operational Services Division of NUGI.
Vehicle claims validation/authorisation may be carried out by either Physical (Field Engineers) or Desk based (office based Image Engineers). We have image units based around the country where possible aligned to a claims department, our Claims Engineers work from home and managing a geographical area to provide full coverage across the UK including Northern Ireland.

Quality
All Norwich Union Engineers work to consistent quality standards set out in a technical standards document, and continuous quality assurance program assists confirm that these standards are being maintained.
Our Customers
Our Claims and Image Engineers are trained to interact with a wide range of Customers, principally these may be Insurance Brokers, Repairers, Claims Staff, and of course our insured customers and third parties in their capacity of engineer involved with a vehicle inspection, authorisation or to provide support and advice.
