Fraud
Fraud continues to be a growing problem within the insurance industry.
Did you know that bogus and inflated insurance claims cost over £1.5 billion a year.
To help combat fraud, we’ve Team Fraud Co-ordinators who assist the handlers and the Unit Fraud Manager in identifying fraud at the earliest opportunity in the lifecycle of the claim.
All suspicions of fraud are investigated in accordance with our fraud strategy.

Compensation Recovery Unit (CRU)
We continue to focus on reviewing and appealing CRU certificates which we think are not attributable to the claim. In 2006 we successfully recovered £1.6 million from the Department for Work & Pensions.
Litigation Volumes
We are aware that further savings on legal costs can be achieved by dealing directly with more injured parties, rather than via solicitors we are working to increase our volumes of unrepresented claimants.
