Product Profiles
Industry is our segmented commercial product for the manufacturing industry. The product is designed for the customer to build the insurance requirements to their specific requirements by selecting the insurance covers they need. The covers available have also been selected and enhanced to include essential benefits suitable for this sector, including specific covers for the plastics industry.
Industry is underwritten through our network of intermediary business branches. To obtain a quotation, please submit a presentation to your local office.
Target Business
- Electronics - manufacturing of conventional domestic, telecommunication, office and media equipment. Vehicle electronics and equipment excluding safety critical parts and low value component manufacturers are also target. Working environments should show high standards of house keeping as well as good quality assurance procedures.
- Plastics - plastic processor, injection moulders, blow moulders and extruders with risks demonstrating good working practices , health and safety procedures and the use of modern machinery - complemented by a specific Plastics Processors product.
- Metal-working - trades such as precision engineers, light metal fabrication and machinery, small component manufacture and assembly and light metal forming. All business should show evidence of risk management and have up-to-date machinery and technology with low use of hazardous machinery and processes.
- Other sub-sectors - Breweries, small and medium engineering and printing risks and businesses with appointed risk managers or superior risk protection.

Buildings and Contents:
Capital additions for buildings and contents up to £500,000.
Loss of metered water up to £10,000.
Costs and expenses incurred in locating the source of water damage up to £10,000.
Plastics Processors:
Additional cover as standard under Property Damage and Theft.
Cover is provided for moulds, tools and dies and as the value of these items is difficult to estimate due to the demand of a particular product, we provide a limit of up to £100,000, higher limits are available should you need them.
Full theft cover on your property. We will not limit your cover to forcible and violent entry to, or exit from, the premises.
Cargo:
If your client is involved in importing or exporting goods then Goods in Transit cover will not be adequate for their requirements. We are able to provide Cargo insurance through our regional marine centres.

Plastics Processors:
Cover is automatically provided for accidental failure of public electricity, gas and water supplies and accidental failure of telecommunications services lasting not less then 24 hours for all plastic processors.

Legal Expenses:
Includes legal expenses arising from health and safety legislation and unsatisfied court judgements.
Plastics Processors:
Automatically extend cover to include financial losses, which you are legally liable to pay, sustained by a customer or user of your goods when there has been no physical loss or damage to their property. The limit of indemnity for this extension is £50,000 subject to £1,000 excess or 10% of any claim, whichever is the greater.
