Secure e-mails
Norwich Union wants to ensure that it continues to provide the highest level of security for our business partners and customers. With the need to communicate quickly, e-mail is now a major tool in transmitting information and documents.
As more and more of these documents contain personal and sensitive information about you or your customers, it is vital that this is kept secure and private.
Secure e-mails allow this information to be e-mailed between Norwich Union and yourselves with the knowledge that our information is protected. It does this by encrypting all user Account and PIN numbers e-mailed to you, from Norwich Union.
The solution will send a secure message (called secure_email.html) within a mail which requires a password to allow the recipient of the e-mail to read it. This ensures that should any third party gain access to this e-mail, they will not be able to open the message and therefore obtain personal and sensitive information.
The file 'secure_email.html' contains your user Account and PIN numbers in a secure format.
Once opened, an Internet browser window will open and display a secure envelope password prompt in which you need to enter your Norwich Union secure e-mail password. Once accepted you will be able to read the secure message and access your logon details.
The first time you receive a secure e-mail you will be asked to set up your own password on the software system called PostX which is the system we use to secure all e-mails.
Registration is quick and simple (it will only take 1-2 minutes to complete) and once done, all you will need to do to read your secure e-mails is enter your password.
We have prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding the new system.
