In Glasgow, we deal with liability claims for the whole of the UK and we're as keen as you are to make sure that we settle matters swiftly and fairly, and at the right price. Here's how you can help us to help your customers.
The sooner we know, the better
Please let us know about all incidents as soon as you can, even if you suspect they will not develop into claims. That way, we're able to carry out timely investigations.
Then, if we find that our policyholder is liable for the incident, and we believe a claim is likely, we may be able to approach the injured person before they appoint a solicitor.
Given that on low-value injury claims, legal fees often far exceed damages sought, dealing with claimants without legal representation helps keep costs down enormously.
It's also essential that we receive any relevant documents or records at the time of our investigation. Otherwise, there may be additional legal costs or, in the worst case, we may
be forced to deal with claims which your clients don't feel responsible for.
We'd appreciate your help to make sure that policyholders maintain and produce documentation as soon as it is needed
Protecting your claims' experience
Notifying us of every incident won't automatically affect your claims' experience. We've developed a sophisticated series of indicators that help us identify what incidents will develop into claims.
We'll only log an incident as a claim if a serious injury has been suffered or if a claim looks likely.
