- Normal insurance needs of the contractor (property damage, business interruption and liability) and how they may differ from other trades
- Additional covers and contracts such as JCT (Joint Contracts Tribunal) or SBC2005
- Contractors All Risk (CAR) including liability, temporary and permanent works and plant
- Clause 21.2.1 (Clause 6.5) - why cover is necessary and the cover it provides.
The second session of the day will concentrate on engineering insurance and how that relates to contractors and will include:
- The history of engineering insurance
- The inspection service
- Current regulations and market players
- Recent developments in the way in which engineering insurance is underwritten
- Engineering insurance cover for the inspected classes, including cover provided and how to calculate sums insured
- Non-inspected or contingency type of engineering covers (for computers, hired in plant and machinery movement) and the need for any additional property damage, business interruption or liability covers.
